Attendance Policy
Casa Richard
Academy expects regular attendance in each and every classroom every day.
Cooperation among parents / guardians, students and the Academy
faculty is needed to assure that students attend every class.
These procedures are put in place to ensure maximum attendance and to
establish academic excellence.
Students are
expected to: Be present daily...ready to learn
Attend each
class on their schedule
Parents /
Guardians are expected to: Inform school secretary of
your child’s absence
Call prior to
8:00 am the day of the absence 313-963-7757
Academy Staff
are expected to: Attempt to contact parents/guardians
(by phone) any day a student is absent.
Maintain open
communication with parents/guardians regarding student’s attendance pattern.
The Academy
does not differentiate between an Excused or Unexcused absence.
Any student not in class will be considered ABSENT.
Any student
absent more than EIGHT (8) times in a class during a quarter, will receive
an F (Failure) grade for that class, and will be dropped from that class for
the remainder of the quarter.
Any student
failing THREE (3) classes in a single quarter will be dropped from
enrollment at the Academy for the remainder of the quarter.
The student will be eligible to re-enroll for the next quarter.
Any student
dropped for THREE (3) quarters is not eligible to re-enroll for the fourth
quarter, but may re-enroll for the following academic year.
Tardiness
Students are expected to be present for every class and to be in the classroom on time. A student who is late for class disturbs others by entering the room, misses a certain amount of work, and forms the very undesirable habit of being late for appointments.
Four (4)
tardies for an individual class will be recorded as an ABSENCE and will be
INCLUDED in the student’s total absence count.
